Hi my name is Turner.  For some reason, you may have seen things on the website or heard people at events calling me "Hooch" but that is really not my name...it was a nickname that took on a life of its own!  Anyway, now that I have cleared that up, I will tell you a little bit about myself.

The rescue sprung me from jail (a.k.a. the county pound) when I was just a teeny puppy, only four weeks old.  I wasn't even supposed to be away from my Mama at that age, let alone all by myself at a pound!   I had been attacked by a dog when I was even younger, and one of my eyes was very severely damaged.  I can still see out of it and I get around just fine, even though it looks a little cloudy.  I am also missing my tail, and it seems that someone cut it off, possibly with a butcher knife.  Are you starting to get the sense that I was not born into a very safe place and that I am lucky to be alive???

Currently, one of the rescue's volunteers is fostering me at her home, where I live with other dogs and cats.  As I am getting older though,  I am developing a stronger personality, and the rescue thinks that it may be best for me to live in a home with female dogs only, and no cats.  Even though I am only about 4 months old, I am already house-trained and crate-trained, and I have been to adoption fairs with Ozark The Official Egghunt Ambassador.  I promise not to take up much space in your house, as they expect me to be a medium sized dog at the very most.

Unfortunately, no one has called about me, or sent in an application on me or come to visit me in all this time.  No one.  That makes me really sad.  I am a very good boy, and want so badly to be Somebody's Dog.  My Foster Human is great and takes wonderful care of me and has taught me how to snuggle really well, but it's not the same, you know?  I'm really hoping that someone out there is willing  to give me a chance.  I really think that after all I have been through, I deserve one, don't you?  If nothing else, I promise to make you laugh with my very distinctive ears....they make everyone smile, which I enjoy...I am a big ham!

Well, thanks for taking the time to read my story,  Maybe if you have a few extra minutes you could stop by and visit with me?  If you're having a sad day, I can make you smile, honest.  All you have to do is look at my ears!

Here's to a change in my luck,

Turner
