Hello, my name is Chosin. At least that’s what they call me here at the rescue. I have had several
names in my life, as well as several human families who SAID they would take care of me, but then tossed me aside when
it got inconvenient. I think the most popular excuse so far has been “we’re moving”, which REALLY
gets the people at the rescue riled up…people move all the TIME with their dogs and find places to live…when
someone uses the “we’re moving” excuse, that really means “we are irresponsible and lazy and too
self-centered to think about the only member of the family who is truly capable of unconditional love”.
Or so I have heard the humans at the rescue say anyway. I mean if *I* had to move, I would certainly take *YOU* along,
so I really do not understand this concept. Maybe that’s just a dog-thing…loyalty is automatic, like breathing.
I’m sorry to hear that it is not this way with humans.
Like a lot of my friends here at the rescue, the humans
thought I would find a home FAST. I am very unique…big (probably about 100 pounds), strong, fluffy and gorgeous,
yet well-trained and a big sweetheart. Somehow, 4 months has already flown by and I am still here with no viable
options for adoption. Crazy, huh? I know how to walk on a leash, know some basic obedience and tricks and love
love love to ride in the car. One of the volunteers here even started to work on agility with me…just the
baby basics, but it is FUN! It seems I am in the neighborhood of two years old, maybe a tad younger. No one
knows for sure because of my sad past and limited history, but the humans bet that I am house-broken.
I had a
Jack Russell little brother who also suffered from the “we’re moving” excuse, so I have a history of
living with some dogs. To be honest, this living in a rescue and not in a home is starting to get on my nerves
and make me pretty sad and a little high energy…I really need someone who will spend time with me and who will train
me regularly. Without that, another dog in the house may not be a good idea. I don’t mean to sound
species-ist, but I do not want to live with cats please. I really don’t like them. Just trying to be
open and honest, no one is perfect, right?
The rescue has taken care of all of my medical needs, and I am up to date
on my shots, micro chipped, and neutered. I am heartworm negative and am on preventative medicine to keep it that
way…as all dogs should be! I have had to be in a crate before for various reasons, like trips to the vet
and whatnot, and I do just fine with that…so, crate training me should be a breeze. It just need to be a BIG
crate!!
Thanks for taking the time to read about me. I’d love it if you came to visit, maybe even to
take me home with you? If you end up moving and promise not to leave me behind, I’ll even learn to pack boxes,
or maybe even drag things out to the truck. I love to work afterall.
Signed with the loyalty only a dog can
manage, Chosin
