11-07-09 Tucker is a very handsome, 9 month old lab mix. From his foster mom:
I pulled him from
Gaston County Animal Control
when he was 3 months old. He was turned in by his owner because they had too many dogs. A/C said he was unadoptable because he was shy. We got him home and he had parvo, so he went to the vet and stayed there for 3 days and was on an IV and other meds, but he made it through that and he's been great ever since. He's neutered and up to date on his shots and on heartworm preventative. He knows how to use the doggy door, is crate trained and house trained. He actually hasn't been sleeping or staying in his crate for about 2 months now. He's still a little shy when meeting new people/dogs, but we've been taking him to the dog park and he does well there and once he's comfortable with the other dogs, he will initiate play with them. He gets along great with all of the dogs in his foster home big and small and loves to play with his young foster brother and sister. He's ok around cats, he thinks they are fun to chase, but has learned that our cat is not a toy and leaves her alone. He's very a mellow dog for his age, doesn't have a ton of energy, he usually goes out in the morning and plays with our other puppies for an hour or so and then is ready to nap until dinner. He does pretty well on leash and knows sit/down/off. He does get very excited at
and can jump a bit, but he knows he has to sit to eat. He'd do wonderfully in an obedience class and is very food motivated. He's very sweet boy with a
lot of love
to give. Tucker is being fostered near Charlotte, NC.
